Comparative Analysis of Magnetic Response in Ferrofluids: Magnetite (Fe3O4) vs. Cobalt Ferrite (CoFe2O4) vs. Cobalt Oxide (CoO) Nanoparticles
Abstract
This report compares the magnetic response of ferrofluids made from magnetite (Fe3O4), cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4), and cobalt oxide (CoO) nanoparticles synthesized under a shared precipitation and stabilization process. It tests how each system responds to an external magnet and interprets performance differences through particle composition, saturation magnetization, coercivity, and colloidal stability, with magnetite presented as the strongest overall performer in the experimental setup.
