Editorial Policy
The standards behind The Insight's student-led publishing work.
Editorial standards
- Accuracy, fair context, clear sourcing, and a meaningful opportunity to respond to serious criticism.
- A clear distinction between reporting, analysis, opinion, sponsored material, and school or partner communications.
- Disclosure of material conflicts of interest and avoidance of payment for favourable editorial coverage.
- Extra care with minors, private individuals, sensitive allegations, personal data, and content that could create a safeguarding risk.
Independence and school context
The Insight is independently student-led. Testing at WAB and use of a WAB correspondence address do not make the site an official WAB publication or imply school approval of individual articles.
Editors may decline, postpone, revise, label, or remove material when accuracy, safety, rights, relevance, or available verification requires it.
Sources and review
Substantive factual claims should be supported by primary documents, direct interviews, data, or reliable published sources. High-risk pieces should receive additional editorial and, where appropriate, adult or professional review before publication.
